Andrew Haak says going from military to missionary turned his life right-side up. He found that service for a King whose reign never ends brought deep joy to his life. The trajectory of his life shifted radically but he is passionate about the new direction that God has him on.

Missionary martyr Jim Elliot once said, “It’s hard for God to steer a parked car.” In other words, God meets us on the move. Andrew Haak encourages you not to wait for something to happen to you and thus reveal your calling. Start walking. Start running! God will direct your steps.

You might be wondering why your heart comes alive when you do certain things or experience particular happenings. God created you in a unique way to reveal His heart. In other words, He made you with all your skillsets and inclinations for a purpose. A lot of men don’t “do missions” because they think that they need to give up all their passions when they go overseas. Andrew Haak says otherwise. He says that God will use people in their unique giftedness for a special role in the Kingdom.

Many Christians have the heart of a spiritual orphan. When we find our identity as sons and daughters of the living God, everything changes. Andrew Haak came to this powerful realization during his World Race experience. This new understanding of his identity catapulted him toward a new direction as he found deep joy in sonship.

Andrew Haak was on the path toward the American Dream when God catapulted him into a brand new direction. He grew up as a Christian and walked with the Lord, but something was missing. During a season of searching for direction, the Holy Spirit opened a new pathway to the mission field. He wasn’t expecting this but he was surprised by joy.
