Circa April 2003, Yunnan Province. I traveled to countless villages in China during my 15 years as a missionary in the country. I often packed a tent to keep the spiders, rats, and mosquitoes away, pitching my temporary dwelling in the center of the community. It was a spectacle, an oddity, a sight for sore eyes. But it worked. Countless families gathered around, receptive to the message I proclaimed. It was their first opportunity to hear about God's grace and love, and many entered the Kingdom of God. It's hard to calculate intangible success, but I always tried to be a small part of the big thing God was doing to populate Heaven. thespacebetweenmemories.com
