YWAM: The Story, And The Legacies Left By Missionary Commitment

1024 585 David Joannes

I love legacies. I often ask myself, “What kind of legacy am I leaving? Will my mark on the world be only temporal, or will it ripple into eternity?”

Legacy definition: “Anything handed down from the past, as from a predecessor.”

Whether you’re intentional about leaving a legacy or not, your mark is being engraved into the fabric of society as we speak.

Loren Cunningham is a predecessor, a pioneer, who has left a powerful legacy for the Christian gospel through the ministry of Youth With A Mission.

Check out this powerful video. It’s a title cheesy, I admit (too many fiery flames?). But the impact is obvious. Loren has traveled to every single country on earth, inspiring multitudes to bring the gospel message to the ends of the earth.

This september 11 and 12, I will be speaking at the School Of Frontier Missions in Chiang Mai, Thailand on the topics of Support Raising And Social Media, and How Privacy And Security Concerns Affect Missionary Communication.

I am honored to impart some wisdom I have learned on these topics. Through managing social media and websites like davidjoannes.com, withinreachglobal.org and thereisyethope.com, I have learned powerful tools of communication that help missionaries tell their stories better through web, design, film, and social media.

Here’s another cool video (that hopefully makes up for the cheese of the legacy video, as this one is done professionally with high artistic value!). Watch I Am A Missionary:
