Dear missionary, you have to realize that your purpose for returning home for a short period of time, you can rally the troops like no other. When your mission is broad and you desire to include others in God’s Great Commission mandate, you will be surprised at how many join you in your vision.

Insinuating that missions is a relay race where we pass the baton and stop running is unbiblical, says David Jacob. We all have a part to play in this marathon—the long obedience in the same direction—where we make Jesus known among the nations.

Your neighbor is someone who is not like you. Sure, it can be hard to step across cultural and religious boundaries to share the Gospel. Where do you start? How will they respond? You might be surprised at how open people are as you take the first relational step.

David Jacob talks about the need for missionary mobilization and retention. He sees the need for staying power on the mission field. The reality is that many missionaries are stressed out by so many unique factors. His passion is to help people thrive, not just survive, on the mission field.
