Shooting a film about sex trafficking in China can be real tricky business.

The issue is both a hot topic and a conversation piece that is often brushed under the table. Everywhere you go in China, you are bombarded by the reality of sex trafficking, but not many people are taking a stand against it.

Enter Eden Ministry. It was a pleasure working with them, meeting the young women who were former prostitutes, and seeing the life transformations. It was saddening and maddening. It was inspiring. It gave me hope and showed me the reality of the greater epidemic of the sex trade.

We set up fake brothels for the shoot, but used actual former prostitutes and pimps. Some of the actors are actually still “in the business”, which blew me away that they didn’t mind showing the grit of their occupation.
